The questions about Moral Mondays were growing. After 13 big weeks in Raleigh and nearly 1000 arrests, how could it be topped?
Enter Mountain Moral Monday in Asheville for week 14! The first rally outside the capital, and it surpassed the attendance numbers of the biggest Raleigh rally by more than double.
After a week off, Moral Monday came back in triplicate! Charlotte, Manteo, and little ole Burnsville showed their patriotic stripes, with 2000 in Charlotte, nearly 700 in Manteo and reports of around 300 in Burnsville!
But, what next? How can the mometum continue? And to what new heights can it soar?
The NCAACP released their next steps, which take it well more than a step further.
On August 28, there will be rallies in all 13 Congressional Districts in NC! That's right. On the 50th Anniverary of the "I have a dream" speech by Martin Luther King, the NCAACP are hosting 13 "Bring The Dream Home" events as a growth of the Moral Monday movement in NC.
Here's the link to the facebook page for the 13 rallies:
The closest one to us here in in Sylva, which is about an hour West.
One week from today, the Moral Monday movement moves to Wednesday, and gets much, much bigger. I hope to talk to as many people as possible from all over the state, and share in this new step forward!
