Back from a nice long weekend, and ready to get things rolling on this glorious Moral Monday Triple Treat that we have on our state's plates today!
Big thanks to Vonciel for covering for me on Friday, as I headed to a concert in Charlotte (home of one of the Moral Monday events today).
As we know, Reverend Barber will be in Manteo today, speaking there. But it looks like the big action will be in Charlotte, where there has been a lot of work put into getting this event off the ground. Of course, Charlotte is the city where Puppet Pat McCrory spent his years as a moderate mayor. So, this is a bit like taking it to his backyard.
Of course Pat's popularity continues to plummet, and will only go lower in light of the new twists and turns that are coming to light in NC. (If you vote in the wrong place, knowingly or otherwise, your vote gets tossed out. No questions asked. No chance for consideration.)
The one Moral Monday today that I have my eye on the most, however, is the oddball of the three. The one in Burnsville! Yes, I am still stunned that little ole Burnsville - my summer haunt - is stepping up and showing their patriotism. Land of Michelle Presnell and Ralph Hise! Burnsville!
I am so thrilled that this little town is making big waves. And I will have one of the organizers, Willard Cotrell, on the show to talk about it today, as well as Ron Powell, town councilman.
Lining up TrueBlue NC folks in Charlotte to call, and still seeking Manteo hook ups.
All in all, it is an exciting day in the Moral Monday movement, and patriotism in NC!
