I am pissed off. Still pissed off, and getting more so since I mentioned this late in the show yesterday. As I thought about it more, the more I got boiled by it.

Last year, America reached new record levels of usage of renewable energies. But meanwhile in NC, our dipstick GOP leaders are working hard to drive us back into the deep dark South.

Progress Energy rate hike?  To pay for upgrades on Coal and dirty energy production.

And playing along with this dubious plan, the NC House are moving a bill to cut renewable energy support and the entire state program. 

Led by pinhead supreme Rep Mike Hager, this will halt our chances of replacing out dated, rotten Dinosaur corpse fuels with clean, renewable energy.  And what does Hager use to back up his support of this?  And argument that I say should be applied to Big Oil.

“I don’t think you should be subsidizing businesses into longevity,” Hager said. “I’ve had one or two tell me they’ll never get off subsidies. I’ll pay for them, my children will pay for them and my grandchildren will pay for them.”

That's right!  He is upset over paying sudsidies for now and generations to come. I wonder if Mike has a stance on the fact that we have been paying Big Oil subsidies for over a 100 years now?  Oh, sure, Big Oil back in the 19 teens needed support.  But they have not needed to be subsidized for a long time now. Especially since Big Oil has posted historic record profits for many years in a row now.

How about them Mike?  Hm?  Or does your strong feelings on sudsidies stop when it comes to people who leave you cash on the dresser the moring after?
