Liz Winstead, famed as one of the creative geniuses behind Comedy Central's trailblazing "The Daily Show" will be in NC tomorrow, in support of Planned Parenthood. And, at the top of the show tomorrow, I will have her on the air live, right here!
From a release sent to me from Progress NC's Katy Munger:
Apparently, when Planned Parenthood was facing national defunding about two years ago, Lizz decided to use her skills as a comedian to help them raise money and to raise awareness about the role they play in helping women. So far, she has made a tour stop in 32 cities. In each city, she puts on a comedy show that is centered on women, women's rights, reproductive rights, I'm guessing some reproductive humor, and it always has political overtones. She will be poking fun at some local lawmakers as well, most likely Skip Stam, Warren Daniel and other lawmakers preoccupied with pelvic politics.. The point of the show is to raise money for Planned Parenthood of NC, and to support their mission as well as that of NARAL.
