I never thought we'd be talking about Green Day and the Library of Congress but here we are! Today, the Library of Congress announced the 2024 inductees for the National Recording Registry. 25 recordings were added to be preserved forever “based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage" and that includes Green Day's album 'Dookie'! How cool is that!
Also on the list is 'Ready To Die' from The Notorious B.I.G., the debut album from The Cars and "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" from Gene Autry. You can see the full rundown from the Library of Congress by going here, plus watching the video which starts with Green Day!!!
